To celebrate its 400th anniversary, Château d’Issan unveils an exceptional new experience designed for lovers of fine wines, French gastronomy and the art of living. For this special occasion, the estate opens the doors of its private residence, inviting guests to enjoy an exclusive gastronomic lunch in the heart of one of Margaux’s most prestigious Grands Crus Classés.
Far more than a fine dining experience, this invitation celebrates four centuries of history, heritage and hospitality in an extraordinary setting, where every detail has been thoughtfully curated to create a truly timeless moment.
The experience begins with a private guided tour of the estate, exploring its rich history, vineyards and winemaking cellars, before guests are welcomed into one of the château’s private reception rooms for a guided tasting of two Château d’Issan vintages.
This exclusive wine tasting offers an opportunity to discover the distinctive character of the estate’s wines, their evolution over time and the centuries-old winemaking expertise that has shaped Château d’Issan’s reputation.
Guests are then invited to take their seats at an elegantly laid table for an exceptional gastronomic lunch.
What makes this experience truly unique is the rare opportunity to share this special occasion with Emmanuel Cruse, co-owner of Château d’Issan, or Edgard Kappelhoff-Lançon, Emmanuel’s son-in-law and the estate’s Sales and Marketing Director.
In an intimate and welcoming atmosphere, guests are invited to discover the essence of the French art de vivre, where fine wine, gastronomy, heritage and the pleasure of entertaining come together effortlessly.
These personal encounters offer an authentic insight into life at a prestigious Margaux Grand Cru Classé estate, transforming the lunch into a memorable occasion filled with conversation, discovery and shared passion.
The menu is thoughtfully created by Frédéric Braud, Château d’Issan’s resident chef, whose refined, seasonal cuisine celebrates the finest local ingredients and the flavours of the Bordeaux region.
Many of the vegetables, aromatic herbs and edible flowers are harvested directly from the estate’s kitchen garden, cultivated with the same care and attention as its vineyards. Fresh flowers from the château’s gardens also adorn the tables, reflecting a deep connection to the estate and its natural surroundings.
Each dish embodies a delicate balance of authenticity, elegance and creativity, showcasing the very best of seasonal French gastronomy.
Throughout the gastronomic lunch, three wines from Château d’Issan are carefully paired with the different courses.
Each pairing is thoughtfully designed to enhance both the flavours of the cuisine and the distinctive character of the wines, creating a harmonious dialogue between food and wine.
This carefully curated journey through French gastronomy and Bordeaux fine wines reflects the estate’s dedication to excellence, where winemaking expertise, culinary artistry and centuries of heritage come together in perfect harmony.
Available to a very limited number of guests, this private château experience is designed for fine wine enthusiasts, gastronomy lovers and discerning travellers seeking an extraordinary encounter in the heart of Bordeaux’s renowned vineyards.
Just a short distance from Bordeaux, in the beautiful and unspoilt surroundings of the Margaux appellation, this exceptional lunch offers a different way to discover Château d’Issan: through meaningful encounters, shared moments and the pleasure of experiencing fine wines, French cuisine and genuine hospitality in an intimate setting.
We look forward to welcoming you to celebrate our 400th anniversary and share an unforgettable experience that truly captures the spirit and soul of Château d’Issan.
